How it works

Your words, in either script.

Paste Traditional, Simplified, or mixed Chinese text. Choose the output script and convert. Traditional output uses Taiwan character forms; Simplified output uses mainland character forms. This changes the writing system, not the language or meaning.

Mandarin Hanyu Pinyin with tone marks is displayed above each supported Chinese character. Punctuation, English text, emoji, spaces, and line breaks are preserved. Characters without a known reading remain unchanged.

Are all pronunciations correct?

No. Context helps select common polyphonic readings, but names, dialect words, and unusual phrases can be wrong. Review important text. This tool provides Mandarin pinyin, not Cantonese or Japanese readings.

Can conversion change the intended character?

Sometimes. Some Simplified characters correspond to multiple Traditional characters. Automatic conversion uses phrase dictionaries but cannot always recover the intended form. Keep your original and review the output.

Does it use a paid AI service?

No. OpenCC-js and pinyin-pro run locally in a background worker. Their files load only when this tool is used. Your text is not uploaded.
